Default obd2b to obd1 help

i going to want to boost my 2000 ls in the near future and i want to tune it with uberdata or hondata, but my car has that stupid immobilizer integrated in the key. if i do a changeover to obd1 will this screw up the immobilizer so i cant start the car? how can i remove it or get around it? is it a separate module, or is it directly integrated inside the ECU? thanks.

The immobilizer is in the stock ECU. If you replace the ECU with an OBD-1 one, then you will no longer have an immobilizer.

i thought the immboilizer had to do with the ignition and not the ecu ?

the ecu is what actually houses the immobilizer chip.. theres also a immobilizer box on the ignition.. but when you remove the ecu.. the new obd1 ecu wont look for that ignition immobilizer.
