if its your's and you are selling it, be advised that it will not work on another car unless you remove the immobilizer chip from the ecu first

if its not yours and you are buying from somebody, then vice-versa

oh damn.. so.. are you saying. if i get obd1 ecu .. my mobilizer will be gone too?

I didn't think people even counted on the immobilizer as theft protection any more.

I've never heard of the immobilizer being good for anything. Don't worry about selling it.

Well, the problem(s) with the immobilizer are:

1) if you get an 01 ITR ECU which still has the immobilizer chip in it you most likely will not be able to start your car without having the dealer match up your key with that ECU.

2) Once the immobilizer chip is removed I understand that you'll forevermore get a CEL!

See if you can just get the VAFC separately or get a harness adapter and wire it in that way. JMHO Ed

1. Since he is selling it that won't be his problem.

so.. i guess i should only sell the vafc.. not with my ecu..
