Good News for Halogen CTR Projector Owners *PICS* Comparison w/ HID
Pics first... then I'll explain
One is a HID, One is a Halogen... guess which is which?

Halogen H1 bulb

Stock Halogen Projector beam pattern

Halogen Projectors with OEM HID bulb in them... (fits perfectly)

Halogen Projectors with OEM HID bulb in them, pattern

Back of HID Projector units

CTR RHD JDM HID projector pattern

Basically... The Halogen CTRs have a different reflector base for the projector optics that hold the bulb... However they do accept HID bulbs fine, and the stock mounting mechanism works fine for HIDs or Halogen bulbs... So if you have Halogen CTR Projectors, you can add HIDs at a later date with regular OEM HIDs, i.e. you do not have to pay a premium for H1 rebased bulbs, just need a set of ballasts 150$, bulbs 70$, and a harness ~50$.
The pattern is not the same obviously because they have different projector bases, but it is a nice pattern with good flare, and will not be a problem for oncoming traffic.. IF you have a LHD set of the halogen projectors. The RHD Halogen Projectors have a very high flare that will blind oncoming traffic without a doubt.
The LHD Halogen projectors are very nice lights and will get you into the game, if you want to put HIDs in them, they will give you a nice pattern. If you wanted to have EXACTLY LHD HID CTR Projectors, you would need OEM ballasts/bulbs AND TSX projectors which are identical and will bolt straight into the CTR projectors. So basically, you can upgrade yourself along the way to CTR LHD HID projectors in the future, and start at the Halogen level and move up over time.
The RHD CTR halogen people, I would reccomend against using HIDs because all of the halogen CTRs have a very high flare that is going to be a nuisance. But you can swap out your JDM halogen projectors for TSX projectors and be at the same place as LHD HID CTR people... just that the LHD Halogen people have a inbetween where they can just plop in any old OEM HID system and be fully compliant with DOT etc...
