I have a B16a1 in my CRX si 1991.
The problem is that im throwing code 23 (Knock-Sensor) and im having a terrible idle problem (fluctuates from 1k-200 RPM).

I just replaced the distributor and i notice my timing belt (tensioner) is a little loose, would that cause my idling problem??

 

fix your code first dude. the KS Code will throw some stuff off. Then check the TPS, and the IAVC and then make sure your throttle cable isn't kinked or bound up. Then make sure the idle screw isn't loose or too tight....But seriously check out that code. Try and clear the ecu first.

 

what can cause the KS (code 23) to come on?? im thinkin it's my timing belt causing the timing to be off.

 

Check the back of the block underneath the intake manifold to see if the knock sensor plug is connected.

 

Behind the block on the towards the driver side, underneath the Intake manifold, there's a two prong clip. The sensor has a red and black wire coming off of the sensor. That's if the sensor was taken off the si-r harness.
