yea im goin with you shuold have one that race Ls in a hatch is pretty damn quick. my buddy beat me with my Si and i had bolt ons and ITR cams. all he had was LS with H/I/E

 

Speaking as someone that has an LS swapped hatch I don't understnad why everyone thinks they are fast. They really aren't that quick. <shrugs>

Edit: Snap...didn't see that you had a B16 tranny. I'm sure that makes a HUGE difference. God knows I hate the long gearing in the LS trans.

 

i dont know i think that they are pretty quick, maybe my buddy just has a good motor or something, maybe you just have a bad one i dont really know. all i know is that his hatch is fast

Nah, I don't have a bad motor......rana 14.9 on stock set up with a B17 header, 96 EX injectors, and a 96 EX exhaust system. Put down 123 HP on the dyno. Its not weak....I jsut don't feel that a high 14 second car is "quick".

 

yea i guess a high 14 isnt that quick my buddy just ran a 14.3 like two weeks ago and all he did since we raced was put a new clutch in

As previously stated I have the crappy long geared LS trans. I'm sure that a good tranny would cut down quite a bit on my dissatisfaction with the swap. Oh well B16B here I come.

I have a B16B in my 00 Ek hatch, and it is defintley not a 1/4 mile car, I ran a best time of a 15.2 at Firebird Raceway in Phoenix Arizona. But latley I have been doing grip sessions and alot of autocross sessions, and its a kick *** motor for that. The gearing in the tranny and the LSD are fantastic.

 

the b16 tranny should make ur EK quicker than others, a good race for a GS-R.

 

15.2? How in the name of god is a stock LS swap faster in teh 1/4 than a motor with almost as much TQ, a shorter geared tranny, and 40 more horsepower?
