Crankcase evacuation (not a catchcan question)
Okay, this is one of the few things I need to wrap up on the car still. I have the moroso vented catch can hooked up now as per the supplied directions. I have three vents on my valvecover that need to term into something per nhra rules. I have been running them to the atmosphere for the time being. I have a 3 inch side bumper exit exhaust and I was wondering if I could just run the three lines into the exhaust without using the summit kit for the v8 motors. Alll the vents are behind the valve cover baffeling, so I don't think oil is going to get sucked out. I am concering about exhaust getting pushed back into the motor. I really have little to no backpressure as it stands right now.
those things that they weld into the exhuast, i belive are check valves, also, the exhaust will create a vacum effect, and help scavenge the crankcase pressure.

Yeah, I'll get a pic uploaded after work. I am using rubber fuel hose with pipe fittings now temporary, but I'm getting the alum. fittings welded in this weekend with the braided lines.

The pieces that actually weld into the exhaust aren't check valves. They are just angle cut pieces of pipe that create the vaccum effect. You are supposed to put the check valve that comes with the kit between the piece that welds into the exhaust and the valve cover. I was just wondering if I could just run three lines directly into the exhaust using an angled piece of pipe with having to buy the kit with the check valves. Do you think that my car is actaully going to make enough backpressure with a 2 foot exhuast to cause a problem? Keep in mind, that this car will only be track driven.

i suppose if your engine speeds weren't high. the speed of the exhuast traveling through the pipe, couldnt create a big enough vacum effect and the exhuast could find its way into the "crankcase" .....
