my cv boot is almost gone.
well the whole axle could seize up since its no longer greased, and cause some serious breakage. If you dont want to spend too much money, you should just have a mechanic rebuild it for you. The boot and clamp is cheap
i drove with a busted cv boot for about 6 months, i had grease pouring all over my wheels and an extremely loud clicking sound when i turned...its not a good idea at all and i was young and an idiot...but if you have no choice im just giving you the timeframe in which i drove with one busted, i wouldnt try to hold off on it and see how long you can go because i heard at some point you could be driving and the whole wheel will lock up and you will probably wreck...
i also just saw in another thread that you can buy axles from autozone for $75 each and you get a liftime warranty so whenever one breaks you get another one for free

your axle is broken and you are on the side of a dark road at 3:00am.

i was thinking it would be a waste of time and to just buy new axle(s) because i heard that once you notice cv boot wear, if you dont replace it soon (like 2 weeks or a reasonable amount of time) that its busted to the point that you have to replace your axles anyways?
and it seems like its that situation since the title says "my cv boot is almost gone"

I love this. Yea it takes fifteen mins if you've done a couple. But if your a first timer then it might take some time. Just go get a new axle and the peace of mind will be amazing.

if it's clicking, u shoud get a new one, it's already ruined. Good thinkin on getting both sides.
