Default question about b16a engine with type r head?

im new to hondas, i am a bmw tech and looking to have some fun. anyways
ive heard it possible to put a b18c engine head onto a b16a block. is this true?
any modifications needed for this?
also, would intake manifolds and exhaust manis/ headers fit up to the new head, or would i need type r intake/exhausts? would the b16 distributor fit up as well?
im guessing it shouldnt be a big deal becuase a b18 is a stroked b16 am i correct?

I'm an M3 fanatic so that's ok in my book

Direct bolt-on, no mods needed.

The B18C5 and JDM ITR (B18C) use a B16A head casting. Of course the cams, valvetrain, etc. and the factory port/polish job sets them apart from the B16 heads. The manifolds and distributor will interchange. The B18C1 (GSR) is different and it's intake manifold will not fit the B16A/ITR head and vice versa.

It's not a big deal for the head swap, but a B18 is not a stroked B16 as mentioned

if you go with a b18c1 head then you will see a .2 raise in your compression...if you go with a b18c5 head then you will get a mild bit of porting in the bowl area along with undercut intake valves and some better springs but compression stays the same
