I have a B16A2 motor and recently did a tranny swap because my old tranny was cracked. We got everything in and when I started the car, I couldnt get into reverse or fifth gear. When I was driving it, I got into fifth but then after a couple of seconds it popped out of gear. It kept on doing that for a couple of times. Then when I got off the highway I couldn't get into first or second or fifth or reverse. I was driving in third and fourth the whole way hence burning my clutch.

So to the question at hand: Did i get a messed up tranny or is there something I might have done wrong or overlooked when I put the tranny together? I really need help on this so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

 

Well popping of gears usually means that the sincros are bad or that they r grindding, umm but check out the clutch for any stress marks, also consider buying a new trans cause replacing the sincros aint cheap.
