Default timming issue

ok this might not be the correct forum for the kind of question, but i know there are some guys in the type r forum who know there stuff. so im looking for help on timming my engine after my cam install. i have skunk2 stage one cams, intake manifold and valve train. everything is tdc and the valves are adjusted properly. im gonna triple check them tonight to just make sure. well when i start the car it idles alittle rough, then it spudders under load. so if i get it to run decent then it wont idle. i used a timing gun and everything seems to be right. its just not running properly. i tried playing with advancing the intake cam 2 degrees and retarding exhaust cam 2 degrees it wouldnt idle but it ran some what ok. im wondering could it maybe be a fuel issue, but i dont think it should because the cams arent that agressive. any info would be apperciated. thanks

make sure the white mark on the crank pully lines up with the tdc mark on the lower timing belt and make sure that the 90 degree marks on the cam gears line up with each other, did you just eye up the gears in the up position? Also did you adjust the valves in the right firing order 1,3,4,2

yes i did adjust the valves they are good. i triple checked them. the mark on the crank pulley is off maybe a 1/8 of and inch. im thinking that is my problem. i didnt think it would affect it that much. i tried adjusting it by the distributor. but i dont think that did enough. thanks
