Default B16B into 96 DX?

I read through the archived posts/thread links on B sereis into 96-98 chasis, but I didn't see any that were specifically related to the B16B. My swap arrived at the shop this morning and Dan from Rcrew reccomended this as a site to pick up a how to on sticking my swap in. I currently have an OBD1 B18B in the car, but I have not repinned the IAC. My primary question is as follows. Is the wiring any different from a standard USDM or JDM B16 as far as the oil pressure and vtec solenoid wiring goes? A link to a walk through would be really nice seeing as how I HAVE to pull the old motor and have the new one in and working from Friday to Sunday evening. I understand that there are always unforseen problems, but I want to avoid as many as possible....esp since I am renting a lift and the tools I need on an hourly basis. Thanks for any help you can provide.

That should be a plug and play if the motor is obd2. It should wire straght up, there shouldn't be any cuttting. Unless you cut the old in car harness on the left side of the car.

I know there is some wirieng that will need to be done, I just need the specifics. I'm thinking that someone told me the vtec solenoid is totally ECU controlled and there is no need for the oil pressure sensor, but that can't be right, can it?

Bump.....ok well I went and checked out the motor today. Can I use an EX harness and swap the plugs/extend wires? I really want to know exactly what I need to do goign into this swap. A link to a B16B walkthrough woudl be very appreciated......or confirmation from someone that has doen the swap before. Kinda wondering about the lack of downstream O2 bung on the cat and B pipe....is this because Japan has less stringent emissions laws?

You are correct about the vtec soliniod.... there is no oil pressure plug... if you are not planning on using the ctr ecu, then you will have to replace the vtrec soliniod with a normal one... i suggest!!!!!! use the stock ecu

other than that it all depends on what year motor you have to whether or not you need to rewire anything. if its an obd2a motor then plug and play.. ecu and everything, just leave the oil preasure plug ont he harness hanging...

if the motor is obd2b, then i believe the only wiring need is the crank angle sensor plug is like three wires in the A but only two in the B... i did a 00 swap into a 98 a few years ago for a customer and thats the only problem i remember running in to

Please correct me if im wrong... like i said its been a few years..

its going to be a big change from a ls motor... for daily driving you may not like it as much b/c theres not much torque but once VTEC hits at 6 grand.. it turns into the most fun motor EVER!! like a gun shot

oh wait i just remebered... the ctr engine is basically a obd1 motor engine wise.. the ecu plugs are obd2 but all of the engine plugs are obd1... the 00 swap i did for that guy was a gsr swap and i put the ctr swap in my car also a few years ago which was direct plug and play...
so really all you need to find is wiring instructions for putting a obd1 motor into a ob2a car... im brain dead right now as off the exact changes you will have to do (finals week) but if i think of it ill let you know...

So am I goign to need to use my OBD1 to OBD2 jumper? Currently the car is rigged with an OBD1 LS motor and using an Rcrewracing ECU jumper. I will be using the stock CTR computer for a while at least. Bottom line me bro....what am I goign to have to do to my DX harness to make it work with the CTR? Oh yeah, its either a 98 or 99 motor.
