It depends on if you're a "VTEC head" or not. Some guys get addicted to feel of it, and others don't necessarily need it. It also depends on what your future plans are. You can't go wrong with the b16 or the b18a. I wouldn't get a lsvtec (your price rang) because, if you're getting it done, might as well do it right the first time. So, with that said, yeah, I'd spend some extra money right away to get the bottom end done and over with. But, that's just my .02 worth

Ya, it depends on what you want to do, and what you're looking to get out of the car as far as driveability. In any case though, I would say the B16 is always a safe reliable bet.

Well....You really have do decide what you want to do...honestly...I was gonna buy a LS a couple of months ago then throw a turbo on it. I decided to wait...instead I put a cage in..and since then I have gone from a turbo LS to a all-motor B16...Now I know exactally what I want, and how Im going to get it. Take your time...figure out what YOU want. Research...call around. Make a list...add it up...throw it away (weve all done that a thousand times). But really take your time..dont jump into anything.

Good luck -Jake

hmmm, first off my mod instict tells me u shouldve done a search but il stop being an *** for now.

Under 1300? leme tell you if you are plannin on doing a swap you better have more than that buddy, b16a's go for 1100 for complete swap but youll need axles, shift linkage and motor mounts, you could do ls for cheaper but youll still need the same basic shopping list. Whenever you do a swap always plan on spending way more than you plan on it, trust me, im saving up for a clutch right now and i dont even have the motor in the car yet, bolts break and hoses tear, plan on spending more if you get a swap. unless you get some kickass deals.

as for what swap. B16a is nice high revver, ls motors have lots of torque, and b18c is best of both worlds, all depends on what u want, any of em can be turbo'd so its all put to preference.
