Well since i bought this 95 Honda Civic Dx 2Dr manual tranny, the speedo has not been working. So today I went to some local shops to find out the exact problem. Well my trusted shop tested the VSS and it came back fine. So he reccomends a speedo head. Im saying it is as well because when its not working if you hit the trip odometer it starts to work sometimes. Now honda says a new Speedo unit is rougly 330 bucks..Does anyone know where to a new one for cheaper????
Good lord 330 dollars!!! You dont need a whole gauge cluster just the speedo. I had this same problem go to your local u-pull find i 92-95 civic take the gauge cluster out and then take out the speedo i got mine for 5 dollars..

well i took off the cover and pulled out the entire unit, i have no speedo cable is that normal?? also i dont think u can replace just the speedo unit since it looks to be all one piece, but if u were to slap in a used one would the odometer fix it self on its own?

take the 2 screws out in front of the cluster that are up above and take the black frame out and then there are 4 screws that hold the cluster in and then you just have to pry the clips off to pull the clear cover off the gauge cluster and take the speedo out good luck
