Use a C-clamp to push the piston back in to make room for new pads. (One end of the clamp on the back of the caliper, the other on the outer brake pad.) Make sure your brake fluid resevoir doesn't overflow.

Then just remove the lower bolt on the caliper, then swing the caliper up.

Remove pads. (Inner and outer pad differ slightly. Take note of which one goes where.)

Apply anti-squeal compound to back of pads, install new shims onto pads (or use old ones if new pads didn't come with any), and install new pads.

Swing caliper back down. (If it doesn't fit, you didn't push the piston back in far enough.)

Reinstall lower bolt.

Repeat on other side.

it is much easier to remove the lower caliper bolt, swing caliper up then use a clamp to push caliper piston in .... much easier to get to piston with caliper removed

Correctamundo.

Remove the lower bolt, loosen the top and just swing it. Use anti-squeal!

Remember to lube the 'slider pins' with a high temp grease

if i didn't put the shims on, any happen???

sounds like you did not have the pistons backed in far enough you should be able to put new pads with shims ,,trust me they fit

If the brakes don't squeek then don't worry about it.

my solution to 90% of the problems found on this forum...(drumrole please)

BUY A MANUAL...or go to the library and look it up

I don't understand why anyone would risk potentially breaking something without doing a little research or at least having a basic understanding of what they're doing.
