wait, there's only one shims per side / brake caliper right?
i just did a brake job and when I loosen the caliper and took out the pads, I found out only one side of pads has a shim (and I think it is the piston side one, the other pad did not have a shim at all).
The replacement pads I bought (brembo) did not come with any.
Is this normal?

You could use shims or not, doesnt matter. I use a shim on the piston side so the pad doesnt bond to the shim (like you do with a washer for a nut/bolt).
