D-series guys please look/help...
OK. So we had been using the Bisimoto header while running Honda Challenge. The header is the best header we've ever had on the car. The top end power is amazing.
The problem comes in here, we are now running in ITA as well, so the power steering had to be put back into the car, now the header doesn't fit.
We contacted Bisi regarding this, & basically unless we have enough "interest" (ie more people willing to buy one as well) he won't re-design one that will clearance the ps as in the past "there has been no market for it."
So if you would be interested please please post here, and contact him as well to display interest. Obviously we wouldn't go through all this trouble if we didn't REALLY think that his header is the best thing period for the d-series.
His site: http://www.bisimoto.com (you can see the header there & use the contact us on his site)
Also check out: http://www.hadamotorsport.com/tech/review/dsemc/
our personal dyno results (on our relatively stock engine & our bone stock engine both showed similar/amazing gains) & the car (although loud) sounds amazing w/ this header....
thanks!

i'd need it to also bolt up to a stock catalytic converter and come in under $700 before i'd be interested.
fwiw, Small Fortune Racing, HyTech, and SMSP all make or can make a header that will match the Bisi, fit with p/s and bolt to the stock cat. prices vary by how different from the standard model they make you need yours to be. ask Shenefield about HyTech's custom prices (i know how much he paid for his custom header but i don't feel it's my position to share that). the SMSP headers i've seen priced in the $500-$700 range and Bill Gendron from Small Fortune Racing quoted me roughly $1000-$1500 for a custom header. the Bisi is nice stuff, don't get me wrong, but there are other options out there if you can't convince him to build a header that fits cars with p/s.

Do the ITA rules require power steering? If so, that's terrible. IMO, that's something that should always be left entirely up to the driver as a personal preference.
I checked w/ hytec ($1100) & have talked to others. Hytec not only is way more $, but you have to notch the block to make it fit, we've already torn chunks out of a the external of the block before (don't ask) & so don't want to remove any material.
Its not that we aren't aware of others being available by any means, this is NOT the only header we've owned for this car.
The Bisi is just that good, and the price really isn't bad ($589 which is in your range...under $700) we also know from experience that it can easily be made to fit w/ just about anything- providing you don't opt for the "megaphone" style (which nobody but drag-racers would) & get the "street version" instead.
We really belive that its the equal length snakes (ideal flow/harmonics for the engine) on the Bisi that is making the suberb response over the more traditional looking headers. How many pro-race teams have really spent a lot of r&d on optimizing the D-series? Bisi (although its in drag racing) is the only one we found, so it doesn't surprise us that its so good.
For us, cost isn't really a problem (although we aren't rich so cheap is good) if we found one guaranteed to meet/exceed the Bisi we'd go that route... but we're not convinced that any of the high $ customs are going to do that, the gains we've seen & have been quoted all come short.
(And thats even taking their supposed whp gains at face value, which as everyone knows you have to take the builders claimed whp gains w/ a grain of salt.)
If Bisi won't make us one, fine we'll obviously go w/ something else & I am still checking around w/ other companies, but our experience w/ it was so impressive that we have to at least try to find others interested to see if we can get one made.

yes otherwise no way would it be in our car- we ran w/o it in Honda Challenge, but had to put it back when we started running ITA

Of course there are other suppliers, but Bisi actually has a day job. Do you think he designed and built his own header just for the hell of it? I'm sure he would have happily used someone else's header if they made what he needed. But they don't. So he had to.

The guy who makes all of the an-r/bisi ect headers is now working for rage performance in upland ca
They have a pretty awesome street header as well as the others so I'm sure that would be the best place to start

If you are interested. DonF is building a D16 right now for a guy who has one of my ITA style headers. DonF will be tuning the engine on his engine dyno and Builthatch will be sending DOn another style D series header I built. You could send your header to Don for testing. The engine will be a hot street set up.
