sputtering Problem
k, i dont really know what the hell is going on so i really couldnt search for it. But here it is....
My car is sputtering at low RPMs. ill be driving and ill be running like 2 RPMs and it will sputter out kinda, but it dosnt die, and then it will keep going. And this happenes in every gear. im thinking fuel filter, but other then that, im stumped.

check all those...pretty open problem, just start with the easiest/cheapest.

hhmm thanks guys, i have no CEL on. i think it might be my plug wires cuz ever since this one guy worked on my car thats when it started to do it and when i check my plug wires they are connected but then dont sit all the way down on the valve cover. But i was to replace those dose n e body know a good wire, preferabley red cuz i just painted my vaulve cover.
If its not my wires then i will probly replace the fuel filter, i also going to buy a compression tester to see what my numbers are, do you think that could also be why im suptten out.

bump for more opinions, because I'm having this problem every once in a while too.
I think it's my o2, but I'm not sure. Sometimes my car will throw the o2 cel (code 1) but it usually does not throw the code until well after I have sputtering problems. Does anyone else find that this happens only when the motor is cold? I have replaced dizzy cap + rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter, fuel pump, and cleaned the injectors a couple times.

http://www.summitracing.com The wires didn't help me at all, but it's still a good idea. Is anyone else here running rich? My best guess in my case is that my o2 is making me run rich and I'm flooding my cylinders with fuel so that it won't spark. When I replace my o2, I'll post up if it helped.
which 02 sensor is it? and i check out that site and they only had the 2.2 plugs, and i have a 2.3, dose it even matter?

As long as it is a 4 wire, you should be good.

I tell you what I have a H22 and my car did the same thing for a while only because the timing was at 14 and its supposed to be at 15 at a 750 rpm base idel. You said some one worked on your car and a lot of shops dont know that you have to jump the crossover in the car (which is the plug you use to flash codes out) to keep the auto advance from setting it self back to what the timing was. You use the same tool to cross it over as you do to flash codes. Like I said I have a H22 but the H23 should be the same so check your timing (Free) before you buy any thing.

Its not the same but it will work. H22 plug wires are deeper than that of a H23.

I have 5th gen base and having somewhat same problem... and spend quite alot of money to fix the sh*t but can not get it to fix it...(can't find good mechanics from here...sucks tell him about the swap and he thinks I'm gonna put B series motor.. bah... idiot... )
so I'm planning to do the either swap to type S motor used one or rebuilding it from Kingmotorsports... which will cost me alot...bah..

Nice, i will take my car to get the timing check, That is free right? becuase i just had my timing worked on before this problem happened. but i will kep u guys updated on what happenes, but if we cant figure anything out that way then i will just change my wires and if that dont work then fuel filter then fuel pump, then im out of ideas. ill keep u guys updated since a lot of people have had this problem.
