Ignition coil problem, Please Help
have a 92 dx HB, with b18c gsr. Ignition coil went out, changed, the Distributor rotor and cap, thinking thats the problem. Found out my coil was bad, changed it and within 20 seconds it burnt out again. This happened twice, Any Ideas? igniter maby? if so is there a way to test the igniter? Im running an NEC igniter, I do have a spare b16 hitachi if that would work.
do you have the Hitachi or Tec style dizzy??
Hitachi is intechangeable with any other Hitachi form 92-00 i know for sure so borrow from friend if possible to check or
to test ignition module, remove wires from module ( black/yellow, blue(1), yellow/green, and blue(2) )
turn ignition on and check battery voltage between black/yellow wire and ground.
if no voltage present, check for open circuit between the wire and ignition switch.
if present proceed.
with ignition on, check battery voltage between the green ground. if none, check ignition coil and the green or white/black wire btween the ICM and the coil

i do not believe but am not 100% on this that the Tec will not work in the Hitachi.
the Tec style should be interchangeable but again not sure.
know anyone with a Tec style that will let you borrow theirs for a couple minutes??

by using someone's that works, you will know if it is that part.
if you burn it out, then you have a short in the wiring or in the ECU.
if it doesnt work and doesnt burn out, then it is something else

Fixed it! problem was the ignitor, I took out the NEC igniter, and replaced it with the a b16 hitachi obd2 ignitor. Started up, adn I let it idle for 5 mins, didnt shutoff
