Default Need Help ASAP

Alright heres the deal....A buddy of mine had his d1675 Head shaved, replaced the valve seal, new timing belt, water pump and tenisoner.....So heres whats up i need to know if I set the timing right....I made sure the 1 piston was TDC, and then i made sure the cam gear was....So then he started the car it fired right up but it idle at 1500...When it idles it pretty rough....So does this mean the car is still out of timing or is it bc there is no carbon build up on the head....I could really use the help....Thanks

Mine idles at 1500rpm until it's warm... Get a timing light, and do a search. It's really easy to check if the timing is correct.

Weird, my friend Jay used to live in Kingsland, now in Cusseta, where I used to live.

I'm assuming you've tried to pull codes, just in case? I'd also take a look at all of your vacuum lines. Maybe the throttle plate is sticking slightly? IAC valve? It almost sounds like your car is never coming out of warm-up mode. I'm going to go grab the Helms..

Alright man....heres what its doing now.....When the car idles it drops way down like 400...Sometimes it cuts off and sometimes it stays running....So we check the IAC valve....Even swap them out.....Still nothing....Then we check the Map senor.....Drove like hell.....Then I took it off and it ran fine...So I plugged it back in an when you go to give it gas it spurters...Almost like its not getting enough gas....So what do you think????Bad gas or a bad senor somewhere?

I'm confused about the MAP sensor part. So when you removed it it was fine? And when you plugged it back in it started to idle poorly again? Sorry, it's late and I had a long day at work, so I might not be grasping all this..

It did one time....I dont think the computer registered it....But one of my friend thinks it still maybe out of time....Bc when it was set i believe he turned th crank until it started to fall.....so that maybe it....Its not my car so i cant give you anymore info then that.....Do you think thats why its idle at 900 then drops to 400, and do u think thats why it runs shitty at first?

It very well could be...Every engine I've ever had my hands on that has had major work done (i.e. timing had to be totally reset) it seemed like 90% of the time any shitty start-up issues went back to timing. Check and re-check, and then get a friend to check. Hit me back and let me know.

Any CELs? I would check your wiring even if you don't throw a code.
