Default my DIY ITB and vacuum log progress

Well with all the ITB hype i figured i may as well give it a shot building some even if i dont use them. So i bought a set of CBR 929rr throttle bodies. I measured them behind the butterfly's with my digital caliper and they are 40mm, works for me. So today i spent a couple hours making a vacuum log and getting it all ready. Now all thats left is the flange which to me will be the easy part. The thing i like about these ITB's is that if you flip them upside down the TPS will be on the passenger side, this way you wont see any of the vacuum lines. Thats the one thing i hate about most DIY ITB's is there are vacuum lines everywhere lol.....Anyways any input is appreciated, thanks!

Looks good so far. Are you planning on doing any kind of filter setup, or leaving the stacks alone?

You might want to look into cutting the velocity stacks even.

Cool idea mounting the MAP directly to the vacuum log.

They look pretty sweet!

Please post pictures of them mounted up on the engine.

I think I am going to build an ITB setup for my ka24de. It is the playcar so if I screw them up I will still get to work!

Also if you don't mind what did the throttle bodies set you back? I am trying to figure what this will run me for parts.

thanks, i just thought that it could eliminate another vacuum line, and also thought it may get a better reading being in a "plenum"

i picked up the throttle bodies with tps, map and velocity stacks for 60 shipped....the vacuum log cost me about 20. i was thinkin about getting the golden eagle kind, but there just so damn small, and i like to try new stuff....im gonna make a few more vacuum logs for my buddies, now that i did it once i could remake it pretty damn good

After reading all of the stuff here I shot over to NICO to see what setups they are running on their KAs. I think it will take me a good 4 months to figure this all out and start saving for the setup. Right now I am saving and researching a welder for the house.

It would be in your best interest to cut the velocity stacks to even lengths. your 1 and 4 cylinder will experiance more pressure on the intake valves at low rpm which will be good for low end tourqe but 2-3 will have a better higher rpm performance. this means your 1-4, and 2-3 cylinders will have varying AF ratio and hurt overall performance.

hope this help
