how do i do compression test?
Is there a VFAQ for how to do a compression test. I kinda know how to do it, but not quite. Like i don't know if i need to take all spark plugs out for each cylinder, or if i take them out one at a time and replace after each cylinder, and i don't know if i need to disconnect anything to keep the motor from starting. Any help appreciated

Pull the spark plug wires out one by one while the car is on (idling). Each time you pull it out, the rpms should drop...if not, then you have a problem with your compression.
i have a compression tester, but i'm not exactly sure how to use it. I tried a compression test in each cylinder with other spark plugs in, but i don't think i did it correctly, because the engine started when i turned it over, and i've heard it's suppose to crank but not start. So i don't know if there is something i'm suppose to disconnect somewhere. and whether or not to leave the other cylinders spark plugs in while i'm doing each cylinder, or do i just take them all out and do one cylinder at a time??
ok this is how you do it first disconnect your ignition coil from your distributer and take out all your spark plugs. then take the compression tester and put in each cylinder and crank the engine and thats it the engine shouldnt start because there is no coil. good luck
step one remove all the spark plugs from every cylinder step 2 find the fuse for the ECU and take it out step 3 screw the tester into cylinder 1 step 4 crank the engine over 4 to 5 times step 5 check the compression tester gauge for the correct readings on the compression of that cylinder.....follow those same steps for every cylinder

yes.
i pulled the ecu and fuel pump fuse...disconnected the distributor.
pull all plugs. attach compression tester. wot, clutch, crank for 4-6 turns.
i got 220 psi on all cylinders. your fine as long as each cylinder doesn't deviate more than 20 psi.
