Default More tire questions (yes I did a search)

Search didn't yield much. I've narrowed my tire choice down to the Yokohama A032 and the Falken Azenis. My main focus is autox with an occassional trip to the drag strip. I've heard from a few people that tires good for autox (stiffer side walls) are not as good for drag racing and drag tires (like Nitto 555) are no good for autox b/c of softer side walls (makes sense).

I do, however see many people in the NW region on Azenis (autox) and have seen that they do really well at reducing 60 ft times too. Hopefully you all can shed a little light here. My gut tells me to just go with the Yok's b/c a couple of my good friends love them and have had good results autoxing with them. I don't know of anyone drag racing with them though.

Oh, and tire life is NOT a factor as my POS is not daily driven!

I believe member BryanSprinkel has done some straightline stuff on A032s, you might want to try sending him an IM.

Here's one about the A032R...

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=108278

And here's one comparing Falkens TO A032R...

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=106706

In a nutshell, one is a DOT competition tire (A032R) and the other is a street tire.

You will get completely different stick characteristics and completely different wear characteristics....

Wow, both are great threads and make me lean towards the Yok's for autox but still no real info on straight line grip. Anyone else have experience in the 1320 with either of these choices?

I've seen people autox the Nitto drag radial. As long as it has lots of air, it seems to be ok. Personally, I'd stick with the Azenis for daily use, or the A032R for occasional street (getting to/from teh track). yeah, it doesn't have a wrinkle side, like a drag tire, but oh well.

The A032Rs would be illegal in some classes for autocrossing, whereas the Azenis is legal for all classes.

He's got a B block swap with a blower, so he runs SM. I'm trying to talk him into the A032's.

A032Rs take too long to heat up and especially autocrossing they will not heat up to operating temps for short bursts of speed.

I'd get the Kumho V700s if it's competition you want.
