Default Car is dying out...Why ???

1st let me say YES i did search and found a few topics but none that seem to fit to my situation. so my prob is that i recently bought a new battery (optima) for my civic with a b16 swap. it ran great for about a week then as i was coming home from work at night it seemed like it was dying out little by little. as soon as i got to a stop sign or red light it would seem like it would shut off cuz there was no more power. now it doesnt want to turn on anymore. i dont think its the batter cuz its new. so what can it be ? for any that know let me know so i can fix this and have my car on the road again.

check the voltage of your battery....if its low then try getting another battery maybe you got a bad one and if it happens again i would say alternator

only prob about that is the battery is dead now. it was workin fine when i got it like i stated. i think it might be the alt. guess ill go exchange the batt for a new 1 and see if its just that.
