Ive heard problems with both, but then again there is that problem with just about every part.
I like the idea of using MICA pads, or their kevlar disc, but i have heard their pressure plates arent all that good with Action.
With ACT I have heard their discs will eat your PP and flywheel alive
So just get an automatic
I am giving RPS another try so hopefully that will work for me!

C'mon guys I know there has to be more of you out there that are using these clutches and even if you are using something different I would like to hear the pros and cons
The ACT isn't sprung, although you can get an Action unsprung 6 puck (md). I came really close to buying a Miba clutch disc for my ACT pressure plate, but the company seems to only exist on Honda-Tech. Out of the blue, some guy makes an informative, yet biased, post about clutch construction, and the rest is history. Band-wagon city. They sound decent, but there are other good choices. I just don't trust a company that has no website.

Im going with this guy. While action sounds nice and all, a company that has no website just isnt worth my time if you ask me

I've been using the ACT XTR6 for about a year now. Making 408WHP on a B16A2. I drag race, autocross, and road course race it. I upgraded to the XTR6 when my XTSS started slipping at about 350WHP (easy upgrade, just swapped the disc). I recently had the engine out for some new pistons and the pressure plate looks fine, so does the flywheel (ACT ProLite). It took a day or two to get comfortable daily driving an unsprung disc, but it's not a big deal. I can slip it all I want and it never burns, which is really nice and has probably saved my axles. If I had to buy another clutch, I'd probably buy ACT again.

I thought the hdss had a heavy duty pressure plate and the xtr-6 had a extreme pressure plate and if I am wrong please correct me and all you did was change the disc on the hdss so that leads me to believe you are using the hd pressure plate with the 6 puck right?

I had the XTSS, it's the Extreme pressure plate with the street disc.

Stiffer than stock, but not too bad. It's not my favorite thing in stop-and-go traffic, but it's not too expensive and it seems to hold up well, so I'll deal with it.

Im in the same boat you are. Still trying to figure out what kind of clutch I wanna get. When spending 500 bucks for a part that can go out in 2-3 months time I wanna make sure I find the best one. I still havent even figured out what flywheel I wanna go with. Supposedly the Evolution Industries Flywheel has a lifetime guarantee against warping...
As for the clutch Im looking at a clutch that will hold up to 550 whp so roughly mid to high 300s in torque is my guess.
I wanted to go with either ACT or RPS. My last ACT clutch held great and I never had any problems with it, but I hear their 6 puck discs can really do a number on your flywheel.
With RPS it has that rebuildable PP which is like 125 to get it rebuilt and then another 6 puck disc is like 220, so around 350 for a new clutch. If you plan on getting a new one every 6 months to a year, you eventually start saving alot of money. Thats just about the ONLY thing that is leaning me towards RPS. Let me know which one you go with.

No problem I will let you know if I ever make up my mind and as far as what you said about the price the action is running me 390 shipped so even if I had to replace it every six months it is still in the same ballpark as the rps as far as replacing it but the original purchase the action is much cheaper unless you know of a cheap place to buy it
