Default parking brake cable problems

i have been working on my brothers DA project car and i was recently working on his rear brakes. Both of his calipers were seized so i bought refurbished ones from someone on g2ic. so i had already taken off the old calipers and when i the new ones arrived i put the drivers side back together but when i got to the passenger side i cant get the parking break cable bracket to line up i guess. The one side is flat and the other has a half moon circle so it seems like there is only one way to put it on but then the cable has so much slack it binds up??? I checked out the stock one i took off and its positioned int he same direction. I am a dumbass and cant remember how it goes back on already can anyone help me?
I wish i had a camera to explain better or show my prob
