Default Log manifold, cutting the fittings

I've just received my steel l's and t's to make my log manifold. What I'd like to know is do I cut the fittings (as indicated on the dotted lines) because they do not line up to the ports on the head. Or do I maybe have the wrong size fittings? They are 1.92inch OD (sorry dont know what that is in fraction form, from South Africa).

I just remember reading a thread here on how the fittings were cool because of the butt-weld design, so you can fill it with lots of weld, but if I slice them, I'll have to re-grind that edge? Also, quite a bit needs to be taken off each fitting, this makes the angles a lot sharper (SEE RED ARROW)....

Please help! Thanks!

Take as much as you can off the T's, and a little bit off of the 90's instead of taking the same off of each. You will have to re-bevel them and yes that angle will be sharper.

exactly, even though its a log there is no reason to cheat the 90s. You should probably grind better bevels than they come with anyway. They are pretty half assed from the manufacturer.
