So I tried to help my buddy today swap in a d15b2 EG motor with SI tranny into his EF and when we reached the drivers side mount there were some problems.
The mount would not fit cus it was big by about this much |-------|
So we shaved both sides of the bushing where the bolt goes thru hoping to solve the problem.
Bam done!
Then when we try to reach the tranny mount it's off by a little bit. It seems as though you could shimmy it in but no go.
I've done a search and found these 2 links:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1123785
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1001351
Both links however contradict each other, so I ask you...
Will EG mounts work in an EF when swapping a single cam, or does my buddy need to swap the mount and bracket off of his A6?
Thanks in advance

NOTE!!!! All D-Series Mounts and brackets aren't interchangable!!!!
I got some of it figured out today.. just some problems getting there. And its a D16y7 with a Si Tranny... i think he had a brain fart when he typed that ^_-but its all good... oh and and D16a6 everything else.
I was using an EG Driver side mount, with my D16y7.. which fits..(with cutting of the mount)......it will NOT REACH the placement for the Mount,.. its too short in an EF

thanks... figured that out today ^_^ But since it's a D16y7 I had to really re-think how i was going to do this. Today i got the D16a6 mounts i had onto the y7 , Rear, Tranny/passanger, Front.. and not the Driver.
D16a6/D15b2 Driver side mount DOES NOT ! fit EK 96-00 year civics..
What i figured out is that Even though D-series engines and parts are mostly interchangable, the mounts and Brackets for the most part Aren't, unless the D-series replacement engine is from the same year Car. But you can swap the Brackets to the Mounts.. which is the only option.. I didn't know that beforehand unfortunately
Ok so now 3 engine mounts are on, and i realized that i needed to use the D16a6 driver side Engine Mount *BRACKET* attached to the block, and the D16a6 engine mount itself, like it is supoose to fit in the car. Ok, piece of cake.. Suuuure.. the engine is for the most part in there, and i dont plan on taking it out again unless i have to. So Since I need to take the D16y7 bracket off of the engine, and replace it with my A6 bracket, i have to take the lower timing belt cover off.. as well as the fuking Crank Pulley BOLT!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Since the Crank pulley is torqued down like hells fury?!! I Stopped the Crank pulley from moving, but since i need the fuking Driver side mount to be there to keep the engine from twisting, i have nothing to keep it steady enough to get enough HeMan Skills on it.!!! and with any bounce on a bolt torqued that hard, its not going to snap loose. I used a 150psi Air tool, a half inch breaker with extensions.. as well as a piece of metal wedged between the front of the engine to keep it from moving..
I'm just really fuked and i think i'm going to cut the lower timing belt cover, to get at the Bracket bolts, and after i have the car back on the ground and the Driver side engine mount in, then i can replace the timing belt cover! which includes getting that fuking bolt loose!!!
phew!!!!!!
