Default dipstick isnt long enough?

i think i asked this before....but since i have done a mini me swap i really want to know how much oil i have. my d16a6 dipstick never reaches the bottom or smething....every time i do a full oil change with 3.8 quarts it barely touches the oil. any way to solve this?

You are still using your stock d16a6 block right? With the mini-me only the head is changed so I don't really know why it would change how much oil is measured. Where is the oil registering on the dipstick?

sorry i didnt clearify....before i even did the mini me my dipstick AT FULL 3.8 quarts would only barely touch the lower hole on teh dip stick. Now since i did a mini me. i would like ot make sure i have more then 1.8 quarts of oil so vtec would engage...in other words i want to know if i have enough oil to get enough oil preassure to engage vtec.
my dipstick doesnt show HOW MUCH REAL oil i have...i thought that this was normal for the a6? is my oil pan just caked iwth oil? thats why i cant see ****?

that would be the worst idea ever.

if he already put the right amount of oil in the car,why would he put more in,just so it'll read on the dip-stick

Try a friends dipstick? I dont see any reason why the correct dipstick would not read the oil level correctly, even if the oil pen were dented it should still read.

when i first got the car...i looked at the dip stick it read ZERO oil...so i hurried up and threw in a quart of oil. when i got home later that day to change the oil...a whole **** load came out...could it be that the person before me used or replaced a wrong dipstick?
if so i have a d15 dipstick lying around here is that ok to use?

oh yea is ther a def way to tell which dipstick it is? can some one go and tell me how long their dipstick is

Grab a dipstick out of a junkyard or find another EF owner and ask to borrow theirs.
Physically compare your dipstick with a known good one...its that easy.
