Help with a d15b7 to d15b swap
Hi we have a 93 honda civic dx 2dr coupe D15B7 swap to a D15b using the jdm intake manifold. We added the vtec selonoid wire and the and the EGR 3 wire. There was no vtec pressure switch when it came, just a bolt. We started the engine and now the engine light is on solid and wouldn't past 4,000rpm there is no CEL there is black smoke coming out of the exhaust we are using p28 ecu ..when we switch back to the stock ecu the light goes off and no exhaust smoke..could the ecu we possibly have a bad ecu? or is it something else? Please help!!!!!!!
Are you using a 4 wire 02?
There shouldn't be an EGR valve...
For VTEC...you need to find a VTEC oil pressure switch and wire it up.

Bauley is right...shouldn't be an EGR valve on there...
check the oil pressure switch first like he suggested, if that doesn't work you may need to source out a new ECU... I ended up having to switch my ECU out for a jdm p28 when I did my d15b swap due to the same issues & some rough driving... on a side note, you may want to adjust your timing and fuel a bit...I found the p28 to run a bit rich on my d15b setup when I had it.
