b16 from EG to EK
A friend of mine is swapping a b16 out of his eg coupe and in to his EK hatch.
My question is, what mounts will he need to purchase to bolt it in to the EK chassis.
I have been told that all he will need is the drivers side 99 si mount and the 99 si rear mount bracket. I searched on here and didn't see specific information about it, and therefore wanted to confirm what I said above. I appologize if I lack skill in the search department, but would appreciate an answer on this topic.
Also, with this swap, other than the mounts, Will he need to manually wire vtec, or does the EK hatch come pre-wired for it? and, He will also need to purchase an OBDII to OBDI conversion harness right? Its a 99 CX Hatch.
Thanks in advance!
Again, I appologize if you don't think I did an adequate search job.

I swapped a 95 SIR-II motor (b16a) into my 97 Coupe.
I was able to use the mounts that were already in the car
with the ones on the motor, if you know what i mean.

You will need to manually wire VTEC since the CX dosen't have VTEC
if you are good at wiring, you can modify that harness, if not, the OBD2 to OBD1
harness would be useful, or you can avoid manually wiring the VTEC by getting an all new harness.
Hope i helped.

the b16 already has an obdI harness connected to it.. it is also already wired for vtec.. if it plugs in directly, will wires still need to be run for vtec?
Also, are you saying that you used your sohc mounts on the dohc engine, or that you used the same mounts as an EG would use? I know the driver side mount on an EK is totally different than on an EG..
thanks for the replies.. any more info?

You have to use a OBD2b 99-00 civic engine harness, you cant use a 0bd1 engine harness since the ek doesnt have the set of plugs on the passenger shock tower like eg civics and dc tegs.
