Default GSR/B16 or LS Tranny???

Hello, I just pieced together and installed a turbo kit in my ej coupe. The motor is a gsr (stock block), I am only boosting 7 psi, but will be moving up to 10-12 psi when I put in my .071" cometic headgasket and arp headstuds. I want to know which tranny will be better for my car. I have hear lots of different opinions from the "gsr is better because it has the short gears 1-4 and a long 5th for freeway travel" to "the ls tranny is better because you have longer gears to wind out when your car is F/I." I dont really know much about transmission gear ratios with regard to n/a or f/i cars. Any suggestions are appreciated. BTW I am running a t4 turbo ( hits hard to ^_^ ).

This has been covered many times before.
Any transmission with shorter gears is going to result in faster acceleration. Period
Longer gears does keep you in boost longer....so what? Youre still not going to accelerate as fast.

Get whichever one YOU decide you need. If you do a lot of driving and want to keep the rpms down go with the ls. If you want a mix of long and short go with the gsr. If you want all short get b16. Your choice.

Personally, I think the best choice is the gsr (since it has the same 1 and 2 as the ls, and a set of shorts), modded with an ls 5th gear set for highway.

I know if you search you'll get all the same opinions that you already know people will say. Its the same thing as asking "Should I go n/a or turbo?" All personal preference.

I bought a GSR tranny for my swap and did not know it has a longer final gear. Someone had explained this to me before but I didn't understand it. Now I get it. From what I have been told The LS tranny would be better for boost because of the longer gears.
