Driver's Window help!!
I need to do some investigating in my door panel. Does anyone have instructions for removing the panel so I can view the window internals? any help would be great. Thanks
its not that hard. if your door panel has never been removed, theres a white plastic dust cover ( i guess thas what it is) that your gonna have to take off (just tore mine out) to see anything.

you might want to go to napa or any parts store and get a trim pad remover.. looks kinda like the head of a claw hammer. or just be careful not to break the clips when you take em off without it.
and if all else fails..call the honda dealership and let them do it for ya. a lil more expensive, but at least you dont have to worry about tearing something up or being done wrong.

On that white plastic thing, I thought it was to lower the amount of road noise.
In any event, what I did with that was to use a knife to cut the putty away so I could get into the door (when I was replacing my lock actuator), then the plastic sheet went right back (putty on putty).
As for the panel itself, there are a series of clips you have to pop up. I used a flathead or a scraper, wrapped in cloth to prevent scratching the paint on the door. Do you have a Haynes manual? It'll give a little more information.

Thanks for the info, My panel has been removed before so I got lucky there. I fixed the problem already, just need some grease on the lower window track.
What was happening?
My driver's side window has been very slow opening and closing, like something is holding it back but there's nothing blocking it. Now that you mention it, it might just be a case of it needing some new lubrication on the tracks.
If I do need to lube the tracks, where can I pick up this type of grease? Just go into autozone and ask for grease?

both of my windows use to do that. i researched it and found that the motors in 5th gens accord go out. so, i replaced them. after i replaced the first one, it did the same thing. i was so pissed..
come to find out, my windows had tint on them at one time but the dealer had taken it off but they didnt do a good job and left the glue on the window.....
it eventually gummed up the weatherstrip that the window rides against and was acting like a brake. i had to take the window out, and partially pull out the weatherstrip and clean it w/alcohol. i just used some good ole vasoline on it and bam.
good to go.
also..if you have the stock speakers in the door still..might be a good time to replace them if your into that type of thing..save you from having to pull the panel off again.
