Does anyone know where I can purchase (1) 205/50-15 Falken Azenis RT-215? I ran over something with my 4 or 5 month old Azenis and while I am eager to try the new Hankook or Azenis RT-615, I don't really feel like tossing 3 perfectly good older Azenis.

Vulcan and Discount Tire Direct don't sell the old ones anymore, according to their websites.

I suppose I can try to patch the leak but I've heard/read that does away with the speed rating of the tire and I plan on doing a track event or two this summer and wouldn't be too confident on a patched tire at high speeds.

I just had an Azenis patched at Discount Tire.....they do an amazing job nowadays. It is like a patch/plug combo thing that they use. I watched the guy prep my tire very well for the application of the plug thingy.

I would have no problem driving my tires on the track with the plug/ patch thing in there.

 

Yeah, I'm going to swing by Discount today and see what they can do with it. I'm thinking it's more than a nail puncture though, possibly a thin metal strip about half an inch long. That's what it looked like in the dark last night, anway. I refilled the tire to 40psi when I noticed the car hitting bumps in the right rear like a stock 100lb/in sprung car and it was flat again 2 miles later when I got home.

 

I saw 4 sets for sale on Ebay.

A guy I race with at the office has been searching for those tires for a while, and they're long gone. There's still 14 and 16" sizes available, but no 205 15s.

 

yeah my gf tried looking for them...none availabe...the hankooks are on backorder at discount tire as well

 

Discount Tire always has taken care of me with Azenis.

guess ill hope the plug/patch is a go or i'm going to be selling 3 205/50-15 Azenis with 3000 miles of street use on them.

 

I patched one of my Azenis about 8 motnhs ago from a nail, and it's held up fine....just use a good patch
