Since for some reason I can't post in forced induction I'll have to post here. Anyways, what I'm trying to find out is exactly what I need to boost a D16Y5. I know I need the turbo, manifold, BOV, etc. The part I don't know about it do I need to have the ECU chipped and what do I need to do about the map sensor. I'm looking to reach about 200 whp on stock internals. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
if you chip the ecu and run uberdata you dont need to do anything with the map sensor, it will read up to around 11psi before it wont work anymore, then you have to get a gm3 bar or something of the like.

how much boost do you think I need to be pushing to get around 200 whp? Thanks for the info.
The problem with uberdata/hondata is it only works with OBD1 ECU's.
You have to have an OBD2-> OBD1 conversion harness, and run a chipped P28. This is really cool when you're trying to pass emissions and you have the wrong ECU in your car, they'll automatically fail you. I don't know what the emissions laws are in your state, but prepare to deal with that.
The other two alternatives for fuel management are V-AFC hack, and FMU, both which are shittier than uberdata/hondata, but are emissions friendly and a lot easier to set up.

Thanks for the info. I live in KY so there are no emissions laws. YEEE HAAAAWWWW!!! Bauley I know you know a whole lot about D-series what setup would you choose? I'm looking to run a 2nd gen eclipse turbo (T25 I believe) and intercooler. I'm looking for a setup I can do myself.

If you don't have A/C get an HF manifold. Check out http://www.homemadeturbo.com it is an invaluable resource.
Personally, I didn't want to have to fabricate a lot of ****, so I just bought the manifold, turbo, and downpipe from the greddy kit.

On your build up what all did you have to buy and how much did it cost you if you can remember. Was/Is it reliable? I know a friend w/ a turbo and manifold for a D series that I believe is Greddy (not sure).
Also wondering if anyone knows the compression ratio for a D16Y5. I've seen it somewhere but can't remeber the exact numbers. I remember that this engine was different that almost all other D-series. Thanks
