Default JDM B20 and California Smog Test

Assuming the tester does not know its a B20 swap, and passes my visual, will a JDM B20 with all the OBD2 sensors hooked up pass smog?

im pretty sure the people are gonna know, they check the engine code and match it with the VIN. once they find out its a swap...JDM or USDM theyre gonna send you to the ref. then you gotta talk to him about how to get yer motor BARed. the one at SWC is cool, he'll tell you what you need to pass. this is what ive learned from personal experience...except i didnt need to be BARed. (btw, im in San Diego...so if you dunno what SWC is dont worry)

In Cali isn't there a problem in putting a "light truck" engine into a car, because the CR-V was an SUV, you can't do it. That'd be the most important thing to look into.

thanks for the replies guys...but the questions i have still are not answered.

i'm aware of the light truck engine as well as the BAR referee issues already. my concern is that if a JDM B20 will pass the actual test.

Mine passed smog w/ the stock exhaust on my g2. It all depends on the tester I suppose, as far as referencing goes, my guy's attitude is as long as the numbers are good, he doesn't care what's under the hood.

As long as you haven't modified the exhaust and you used to pass before, I don't see why not. Then again, mine is hooked up obd0

Too bad you're not in Nevada. They pass anything if it has a air filter, pvc valve, cat and muffler.
