Default stock motors with turbo

how much oil does your motor burn or consume? I burn a quart every 1500 miles, my motor has a 167k miles on it, but i try to change the oil every 1000 miles.

build the motor, if you boost for another year you will have spent more money on oil than you could on pistons/rods

Mine barely burns any oil at all, and the ringlands are worn. I add maybe a 1/4 or 1/2 of a quart every 3000 miles.

How can you tell that the ringlands are worn? Is it better to install new/better ones when putting on your turbo and avoid the aggravation later?

Mine doesn't burn any, but I think the bottom end also has low miles on it.

You can't just "replace ringlands" It involves getting new pistons...preferrably forged ones.

hehe, yeah, new ringlands would negate the whole stock motor premise.
