Im noticing that my brake pedal is mushy sometimes, but stiff at other times...new pads all around, and master cylinder is full of fluid...now im going to bleed the brakes tomorow, and then see if that helps, but im guessing the master cylinder is dying...how much for a new one? hard to fix? etc...thanx in advance!

A dead MC would cause a sinking brake pedal. A mushy pedal is most likely air in the lines.
Changing the MC is not super hard. Hardest part is disconnecting the 2 hard lines. Then you have to bench bleed the new one before you install it.

Was it a brand new MC? If not you could have gotten a better deal at Advance Auto.
I almost got stranded on a roadtrip because AutoZone didn't have the MC in stock at any of the stores except the hub (20 miles out of the way) and we were pressed for time. Luckily we stopped into the Advance Auto before we drove 20 miles out of the way, and they had several of them in stock.
It was $80 and some change for a brand new MC with all the hardware/parts and one of those big things of brake fluid.
Installed it right in the parking lot.

Has this problem just started happening ? How is the weather around there ? In the summer rubber brakes lines become softer there for the pedal becomes softer.
