first look whati picked up today for $50 a complete 98 sohc vtec head not sure what valve cover it is tho =\ ok so far i bought oem honda y8 head gasket, new valve cover gasket, which timing belt do i get?

the valve cover is from a 94-95. here, you might wanna replace th water pump, thermostat. not sure on the timing belt though.

Looks like my 00 Y8 to me, but the pic isn't too clear. All D series VC's were identical from 96-00.

Yeah, that looks like a 92-95. I thought it said Honda on the first pic. The 96-00 did not say VTEC, just Honda. Probably swaped at some point for the older version for the VTEC bling.

 

how many miles were on it? you got a good deal, where did you get it from.

 

what block is it going on?

 

its going on to an A6 block... which timing belt shouldi pick up

 

the one for the head, y8 is it, get that timing belt i believe

 

head has about 80-90k and i bought it off some kid i met off the internet


ALSO i was wondering do i have to use the crx si intake manifold or can i use this Y8 intake manifold? which one is better?

 

get the z6 timing belt

 

from what i've heard and read the y8 IM flows the best

 

If that intake manifold is the original one from the head then the head is a 99-00 y8 since the manifold has the air injection.
