Default Discoloration on stainless headers

So I'm looking to buy a set of stainless headers, used. They've gone through that discoloration stage where they turn a really dark purple. Looks kinda ugly. I read https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=852379 and it looks like you can clean them up.

Is there a faster way to clean the discoloration? They aren't really tarnished, it's just darkened from the heat. IIRC there was a way to treat them to prevent this (not Jet Hot).

Hmm okay. I always preferred that golden brown color, but I guess that is a normal thing that you can't do much about.
