Fuel Gauge stuck on full? EJ8
I have a 96 civic ex coupe with a 99-00 Si cluster.
Everything works great except the fuel gauge stays on full regardless of what's in the tank. This was not the case before I swapped clusters; and after putting the EX cluster back in, I got the same problem.
Any ideas as to what could be the problem?

the thing inside the tank that's supposed to move up or down depending on the level of fuel inside the tank is probably seized up... I'll try to get pics of it

please do.
But it seems rather odd to me that it seized when I swapped clusters.

I remember when I first got my ek, I had to drive it like 50 miles back home, and the gauge didnt move, and I was like, man its broken! Then my cousin started telling me about how wierd the gauge is. Like the first half is like 200 miles, and the last half is about 100 miles or something of that nature.

not on both clusters, seems odd.

no it stays stuck on both clusters.
It seems odd that the intank sensor would seize right when I swapped gauges.

yeap, it is the fuel gauge sending unit.
when I un-hooked the unit, the gass meter did not move at all (from empty). When I put it back in, the metere went to full.
I wonder if honda will replace it with the emmissions recal (96-97 civics).
