what happens when your throw-out bearing fails?

If it seizes then you'll be stuck in whatever gear you are in.

The usual sign of a bad bearing is a slight squealing noise when idling in neutral with your foot of the clutch. As soon as you press on the clutch the noise goes away.

what i'm experiencing is.....when i press and hold the clutch down and put it into any gear, there's a squealing/whiring/grinding sound. if i release the clutch a little it goes away.

also, now i cant put the car into any gear, and if i do force it into gear and presss in the clutch to shift, the rpms doesnt drop for about 2 seconds then it drops slowly.

is a seized throw-out bearing causing problem?

one more question...since this happened to me when i 'm was driving home through rush hour traffic and i was forcing it into gear(namely 2nd) .

should i worry about anything else like a bent shift fork etc? i'm getting a new clutch installed thrusday and i want to order some parts from the honda dealership i work at so i dont have to wait another 2 days for the part to come in?

thanks
