Default motorised hidden gauges

Anyone know how to make something like this?

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=627535

I remember seeing it when it was first posted but never really paid attention until recently when the topic was brought back from the dead. And before anyone flames me for doing something like removing the air bags like this guy Im planning to do it on my eg civic where the air vents are on the dash

i dont think u would need a motor that large. but then again 3 gauges with wires are quite heavy for a tiny motor

Use an electric cylinder ( can't recall if thats the name for it ). Place the gauges on a plate, mount them in the up postion, then go from there.

Not sure if you watch orange county choppers, they built a bike with missle flaps, you pulled a trigger and they popped open.

Speaking about this, do you get mtv ? If so they just did a bel air on west coast customs and they had tv's rising from the seats. It was a simple job actually, but once you see this, you will know right away on how to do the guages. You could do them the same way.

You need a linear actuator with about 4" of travel. Email me and I will be happy to tell you how easy it is.

wow thanks alot guys, been researching on google and found pretty much everything. Still one question though, all the linear actuators that I find are kinda big and bulky and have an enormous lifting power and my concern was that it wouldnt fit under the dash not to mention they're quite expensive. Anyone know where to buy something of smaller size? dont really need something that big and power for some small gauges.

that is about the only thing to move them slowly. If youwant them to jump from the dash then just use a d/l actuator, cost about $5 but you only get 1 inch of travel so you will have to rig up some pulley system.
