d16z6 experience
i have been searching for ever on a swap guide on a d16z6 into my 88 crx si...all i ever find is someone selling it if ne one has a link off hand that would be great....i no this is not a hard swap but i just want some more info so i dont **** nething up...and i do no i will need a obd0 to obd1 converison harness
use your old tranny flywheel and clutch for the 88 and it is a straight drop in procedure. You will need to take the engine mount for the drivers side off the old block and put it on the z6. Everything else will bolt up... OBD1 is the best way to go for this swap, but you can do it without going that route too. get a chipped si ecu for 1 wire vtec and modify your dizzy to fit.
OBD1 you will need a p28 ecu, a z6 dizzy, and a 4 wire o2 sensor. Wire it up with a conversion harness from jdmshit.com <------ cheapest place. Any other questions please feel free to PM me. Or email.

i don't think theres any specific wireups for this engine, but physically swapping the engine would be just like any other d series engine, except that one bracket. maybe look for a guide on a d15b vtec, cause i believe its the same, what with swapping the mount bracket over, wiring vtec, etc.
thanks guys and when im converting from obd0 to obd1 exactly what do i need to get from http://www.rywire.com should i just get the packege for $190?

just did it last night. working some bugs out today. actually this is the second z6 in this car. as all have stated, it's not that hard if you ready to swap. i chose to remain non obd using a zdyne one wire ecu and did have to modify ther dist. legs. search the d15b swap or you can im pretty much anyone who has done the swap for specific q's.

All you need to drop it in is:
- is a new drivers's side Z6 mount for the engine
- (Jkobd.com) OBD0-OBD1 conversion harness
- 5 speed P28 (D16Z6) ECU
- 4-wire o2 sensor
- D16Z6 distributor
- Maybe get some new fuel injector clips for OBD1 (cept u can use OBD0 just do a little melting)
- Could opt for a D16Y8 manifold as well
Enjoy

get the whole package it is similar to what I got, it makes putting it in the car easy. It will be all plug n play except for the injector clips. you will have to modify yours to fit onto the obd1 injectors. If the engine comes with the 4 wire o2 then you are good. You will need the P28 you can use an auto and convert it to manual, just search for p28 auto conversion in the archives and it will tell you what to do.
