Default Q# I have p73ecu running ctr motor but want hondata and I have a p30? info inside!

Okay as stupid long title says. I have a 99 ctr motor in my white hatch and they used a jumper harness to go from obd1 to obd2 (not sure if a ort b). Anyways they didnt have a proper ctr ecu so they gave me a p73 (jdm). Engine runs like a dream but I fkin wanted to tune it with hondata and cannot.

So from the b16a I just had, I still have a obd1 jdm p30. Now if I bring my car to my mech with the dyno and hondata, If we take off the p73 and jumper harness and plug in the obd1 p30 ecu and tune it with hondata will anything happen beside's much better tuning??? vs just staying with what I got and using a VAFC?

pros, cons??

thanks Kenny

the answer is yes. but the ecu has to be socketed and effectively modded so it acts like a p28

contact user Scttydb411 on this board if you have any more questions of this nature.

thank you sir.

Im also wondering now that they had to convert some/most of my harness as the ctr is obd2. I know there are certain plugs (in the engine bay) that arnt plugged in and I also dont want to be stuck having a engine light that is always on. I guess I have to take out the p73 and just put in the p30 and see if it throws codes or even starts for tha matter but thank you!

all the plugs and sensors are the same from obd1/obd2 except for injectors, ecu, and distributor. Everything else will plug right in with no problems or CEL's.

yeah we used the odb1 injectors from my b16, I know the only thing that is unplugged that wasnt b4 is a plus near the distributor. Oh well I guess I just have to plug the other in and hope for no code!

What plug near the distributor are you talking about? and jump your car so you can tell us the code?

Ill have to actually take a pic of the set up and the car aint givin any codes and I can easily find out what code and fix it but what Im saying is that if I put in the p30, do to this not being pluged in (obd2) I dont want to have any codes in case.
