Default 97 LS auto turbo//

Is it a good idea to turbo an auto 97 teg ( non-vtec)? Plz tell me the disadvantage and adv. when comparing w/ manual teg. How much psi can internal stock handle? Hit me up

I think you can run about 6-8 Psi with stock internal
and one advantage is you won't miss a shift
but I think if you go turbo you should upgrade your engine too!

no, you can't. we just went through an auto tranny in 1 week. at 8.5 psi. 95 SE ls/vtec. just go 5-speed and save yourself the trouble. it sounds like a cool idea. we had the trans cooler and a temp gauge and all...but to no avail.

if you could upgrade the automatic transmission, you might have a beast . . . remember, automatics keep the throttle open between shifts. isn't there SOME upgrade kit out there for automatic Integras?

Is it true that turbo on manual lasted longer than auto?

of course. try running a turbo and using a stock clutch on a manual. that's what you're doing with a stock automatic tranny. you're trying to run stock clutches on a much more powerful engine. won't work. the auto tranny will needs modifications, like stronger clutch.

IMO, don't even bother with an auto teg. Either buy another teg thats manual or do a swap :0

i went from an auto gs to a manual gs-r.. couldn't be any happier

fuel rail= 0hp unless you have about 600whp or more. maybe still 0 hp.
injectors = required for reliable turbo setup, so not applicable
cams + valvetrain = depends on boost, maybe 5-8% more power
big big exhaust big converter big downpipe = maybe 8-10%

work on getting down a set plan for boost, namely what fuel management you'll be using, such as injectors, fuel pressure regulator, and something either a tunable chip or advanced fuel tuner like SAFC-II or even stand-alone engine management. personally i'll recommend Hondata if you have more money, Uberdata if you have less. both of those are tunable chips, and both of these are WAY more powerful than a normal fuel tuner like SAFC-II. not that that's a bad tuner; actually, i think it's one of the better ones. get boosted, make sure it's tuned, then make sure it's reliable, then work on other stuff like a giant exhaust and proper catalytic converter, upgraded engine internals, etc.

I have heard stories of people grenading two auto trannies in a month after they turbo'd it.

yes, we know automatics aren't strong. my question (to help the guy who made this) is this:
are there any kits out there to strengthen the integra's automatic tranny? that's the real question. it would be faster than a manual if it lasted, so let's see if this can be done.

I heard level 10 makes good torque converter, but I am not sure about if the wet clutch packs were strong enough.

You can do it, but don't expect 12s, maybe not even 13s. But if low 15s and 14s is what you are looking for then do it. I had it
