Default Oil leak

So I had been noticing a build of of oily grime just above the area where the head and block connect so I cleaned it all of so I would be able to tell where the oil is coming from. Well today I looked under the hood and there was a little pool of oil in the same spot (this is the area right above the VIN number on the tranny) has anyone else had this problem, do you know why it is leaking from that spot? It is a b16a BTW.

How would I go about checking that? And where do I get a new one, just autozone or something?

get one from honda- does your motor have a sensor on the exhaust cam or a plug? If its a plug you can get it from Honda for a 99-00 Si or you can get an STR piece- if you have a sensor you will need an oring for it.

From the location you described, it sounds like it could be the distributer o-ring leaking. The oil would leak from beneath the distributer onto the trans. Seems like all Hondas eventually leak from there.

Frum whut u described it sounds like its coming fromthe cam seal. I had the same problem and i replaced my cam seal with an str 1. Fixed my problem right away. No more leaks.

I went to honda today and picked up a cam seal from a VTEC Del Sol thinking it would be the same. When the guy showed me a diagram of the Del Sol engine the cam seal is on the side with the timing belt. He said that with an Acura engine there is a seal on the other side of the engine though...so maybe I should get the peics from the acura engine?? I dont know, what do you all think? It sounds more like the distributor to me because there is a build up of grime around the distributor as well, so it might be dripping down from there. It is a first gen B16A......where do I find parts for the first gen motors.

Dont listen to the guys telling you it's the cam seal, the cam seal is on the opposite end of where you described. It sounds like the distibutor o-ring, and you can also get that from the Del Sol Vtec. Later!

some people call it the cam hole plug, cam plug, exhaust cam plug etc. - the cam SEAL is actually on the sprocket side of the cams. get a dist oring (2 if you have an exhaust cam sensor) and a "plug" if applicable.

could also be the VTEC pressure thingy/actuator seal if you have taken that off recently...

(would be leaking towards the exhaust side of the head...)
