Default strange noise when turning left any ideas?

when turning left a strange noise comes from the front end it sounds very tinny (not solid) like something rubbing (metal on metal sound) and it sounds rotational ive never heard the noise like this from turning before it happens in first and second when going slow and may happen at higher speeds but due to engine noise cant tell. its not just on full lock the sound starts anout 3/4 lock and doesnt sound like a c.v joint or bearing as it doesnt knock. any body got any ideas?
all help apprecited

the cars a 1999 civic coupe vti

it might be zoolander- he cant turn left on the runway .

sorry not even funny. i am going to say that it could be the cv joint. i have had a few bad ones, and they dont always necessarily have the same sound. you might be in the early stages of yours going bad. they usually go bad around 90k miles on the axle, or if the boot ripped. see if you have a ripped boot and go from there

just based on what you have said could it possibly be rims that are too wide i had the same problem with my k1's (they are 7.5" wide) and it took forever for me to figure it out ( on me) it was my rear uca's grindin the inside of the rim just a thought

im runing on stock rims so dont think that will be it although not checked yet, only got serviced last month at dealer and they never picked up any damaged to boots and i cant feel any damage ( cant get under car to check properly) tyhe cars only got 40,000 miles on it which is why i eliminated c.v or bearing, if it is c.v would it only make a noise when turning one way or would it happen when turning right too?
