Hey guys i got a 95 si hatchback, and ive been hearing all this talk about ES Oval Mufflers and how they sound good, so i think it's time i got an exhaust. I was wondering should if i should go 2.25" or 2.5"? i plan on getting a header and high flow cat later on, but i just have an intake, removed muffler and some other **** for now. but your opinion would be much appreciated

a sound clip or a vid would be nice also

i had one on my eg with 2.25 piping done and i took it off because the sound was just too deep but i prefer the dynomax ultra flo.

 

I had ES oval on my hatch (see sig) with a full system and it was ear ringing inside the cabin. Switched to RSR much more mellow tone better for daily driving I think. But if you like noise inside your head go for the ES. Plus side: ES looks stock when installed, besides the 2.25" exit.

screw that just unbolt the pipping from your muffler.. that have a nice deep sound.

 

yeah but when you do that it's kinda loud, and i actually want a muffler so the cops wont give me any bullshit. they give hicks bull for having cut off exhausts on their lifted trucks

 

so can i buy an rsr ex mag muffler and not the piping because i havent seen them selling just the piping.

2.25" if your staying all motor. 2.5" is too big, not enough backpressure. your engine won't sound good, itll be too deep, not enough "muscle" to backup that 2.5" piping. 2.25" should sound better.

 

No sound clip...sorry, I would go with the RSR, looks better, doesnt leave black **** on your bumper. ES will get polices attention especially when you "get on it"

 

go with the 2.25 if your gonna go all motor.. 2.5 is a lil too big unless u like it.. ive seen some cars have a 3" and damn...... it was hella hella hella ugly

 

or when your driving drunk, and you dont want pulled over, happened to me, not cool.

lovely hatch u got there... my buddy got an es oval from http://www.jhpusa.com for a decent price, 2.25 black muffler $109, black 2.5 $120, polish 2.25 $99, and 2.5 polish $95. he purchased the black 2.5 for 120 and it soulds real nice(it all depends on the motor situation. not enought power it wont sound too good if u go wiht a 2.5) only problem was the black chipped off and made it look like *** ??????? personaly i like the rasperrrr sound.
