Default New To The Game

Ok here's the scoop. I have a 92 honda accord with a h22a swap but it's really not doin it for me anymore so I'm finishing it up and just drivin it on the weekends. But anyway I have come across a 88-91 hatch shell and I want to know what motor to put in it. I've thought about a zc swap there pretty cheap but really don't know bc I want the motor to be turbo so. I was wondering what u guys would put in this hatch because I want it to be a beast. I need help so any input would be great. I want this thing to be done and out by the beginnin of summer.

It depends, how much money are you working with?

more info. why do you want to go turbo? how much money are you willing to spend? etc etc etc.

sounds like you're somewhat budget concious, otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned the ZC.

I just don't want to put a butt load of money into it as I did the h22a. I can spend a couple of thousand and I've been readin bout a couple of post that the zc dohc can be faster that the b16. but i'm new so really don't know

Go with a b18a/b and do a hmt. That will be about 2-2.5k.

A couple thousand is plenty for a zc and a small junkyard turbo setup. A boosted zc will be quicker than a stock b16a. Just remember the key to having a reliable turbo car is good tuning. I would advise not skimping in the area of engine managment and tuning.

I was thinkin of doin the dohc zc swap and run a turbo and engine mangement with it I looked on hmotorsonline and they had the zc for 525 adn they had a b16a for 599 and they had a b18b for 749 but with the b18/b16 I would have to change the axles and everything rite and whatelse would I have to do and what would be the best turbo to run I was thinkin t3/t4 running hondata. but also I'ma sleeve the motor so I can run at least 14psi. But I'm just tryin to figure it out don't really know yet.

You don't need sleeves to run 14psi (just a g-o-o-d tune). The most basic rule of thumb would be 7-10 psi on an all stock Honda motor, 15-18 psi on forged pistons and rods. Both assume great tuning. There are some differences between the different Honda motors, but they will all hold about the same amount of boost with the same mods.

youre going to spend about $2300-$2400 on a full B16 swap when everything is done right. Save that $$$ and go ZC turbo or D15 VTEC TURBO would be sick as dog nutz - SOHC, VTEC and makes just as much power if not more tunable than the ZC IMO - just my $0.02
