The FSM gives a new cylinder head height range to a couple thou. I'm wondering where I make this measurement at! (obviously one side will be the deck surface) Doesn't say where to measure it. This is to determine how much a head has been decked.
B18C new height is 5.589" - 5.593"

Its not from the deck to the valve cover mating surface. Thats about an inch taller than the specs. Any ideas?

good link, i googled for about an hour last night and couldn't find a thing!

so can anybody confirm the "Cylinder Head Height" measurement on a honda as being taken from the bottom of the cam shaft journal to the bottom of the deck?

 

mmm i got the answer, its measured up to cam cap mating surface.
